SLIDE Introduces Line of Picos at CES 2017

Slide is a developer of smart devices for smart consumers. At CES, it introduced three pico projectors using each using a single DLP chip and LED light sources. All models come with Android OS V4.4.2, Wi-Fi, and both physical and Bluetooth audio output. Input interfaces include: microSD, two USB hosts, CVBS (RCA), and HDMI.

These look like straight forward picoprojectors, but Slide offers three brightness levels: sensual, white, and color. These apparently correspond to different settings on the use of a “white” component and the color temperature of the white light.

For example, the ShowStream Mini Pico (PR1000) has a ‘sensual’ brightness of 500 ANSI lumens, and white and color brightness of 100 ANSI lumens each. It has 854×480 resolution, a 1.5W mono speaker and an MSRP of $369.

The ShowStream Pro (PR2000) has 1200×800 resolution, ‘sensual’ brightness of 2500 ANSI lumens, and white and color brightness of 500 ANSI lumens each. It has 3W stereo speakers and lists for $599 MSRP.

The ShowStream Master (PR3000) has the same resolution and lumen and speakers characteristics as the PR2000, but weighs 9.9 pounds (4.5 kgs) vs. 1.8 pounds (0.82kg). It has different lensing allowing projection from only 2” (5cm) away from the screen, so this must account for the significant increase in size, weight and cost ($999 MSRP). – CC
