Siemens has been awarded an Emmy for Technical/Engineering Achievement from the US National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) for an artificial eye that was developed by Siemens founder Werner von Siemens and his brother William, although the development was largely omitted from many historical accounts of the development of TV.
