The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has announced that global sales of semiconductors reached £33.6 billion in July 2017, representing a 3.1% growth from the previous month and a year-on-year growth of 24%.

The Americas lead the pack with a 36% growth year-on-year, and 5.1% month-to-month.

John Neuffer, president and CEO of the SIA, said:

“Worldwide semiconductor sales increased on a year-to-year basis for the twelfth consecutive month in July, reflecting impressive and sustained growth for the global semiconductor market.

Sales in July increased throughout every major regional market and semiconductor product category, demonstrating the breadth of the global market’s recent upswing, and the industry is on track for another record sales total in 2017″.

The figures were calculated month-on-month, year-on-year and on a three-month moving average, as well as being divided up by region.
