RSCrypto of Chengdu, China, a maker of Conditional Access Security (CAS) said that it is now supporting SMI’s key derivation architecture on MStar K1, K5, K7 series chips.
The company believes that key derivation architecture-based CAS could play an important role in the consolidation of the broadcast industry as companies support a wider range of broadcast technologies including OTT. There is also a move to look at STB interoperability between different CAS systems.
