Everdisplay has shown two new AMOLED panels at an event in Shenzen, China. The first is a 1.63″ unit for wearables, which will enter mass production in Q2’15. The company also showed a prototype 5.6″ panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution for phablets. Mass production is expected to begin in February.
Huawei has said that it shipped 16.8 million smartphones worldwide in Q3 this year, a 26% YoY increase. Around four million of these were mid- to high-end devices, shipments of which doubled compared to last year.
