LG’s Monitor Shows Two Colour Spaces

We saw LG’s 31″ DCI-4k LCD monitor, the 31UM97 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 33), at IFA. The company has now announced that the product will be available in various markets – including the USA and Europe – this month.

Aimed at professional users, the monitor features a factory-calibrated IPS panel that covers 99% sRGB, 99.5% Adobe RGB and 97% DCI-P3. A Dual Colour Space mode enables the screen to show two different colour modes at once, for comparison. The panel can show 10-bit colour. An ergonomic stand (-5 deg to 15 deg tilt, 90 deg pivot and 140mm height adjustment) and anti-glare covering support prolonged use.

The 31UM97 has 178 deg viewing angles, a 5ms response time and 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Brightness is 420 cd/m
