Conexant Systems in the USA has announced that its far-field voice input processor SoC, the CX2092X, is being adopted by LG Uplus in a new line of set-top boxes. With the SoC, LG’s STBs can be voice-controlled from across a room, regardless of background noise.
LG’s Discover OLED promotion is a £3 million ($4.7 million) campaign, running until the end of the year, to support the company’s OLED TV range. The campaign consists of TV, online and experiential outdoor marketing activities. Consumers will also have a chance to win a 55″ EC930 OLED TV.

Microchip Technology has said it will not be making an offer for UK-based chipmaker CSR. In September the US company was reported to have approached CSR with an acquisition offer (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 25), having previously rejected a preliminary offer as too low.
