Volfoni and Vision Media Management (VMM) are working together on a programme to recycle 3D glasses. VMM distributed Volfoni’s passive 3D glasses and ships recycling bins to cinemas across North America. The glasses are then returned, cleaned and sterilised before being shipped back. Reusing 100,000 glasses will save almost two tons of plastic.
Sources in Asia have said that LG is concerned about its OLED TV inventories. Sales of 55″ OLED TVs were lower than expected during China’s recent New Year holiday (about 1,200 units – 1% of total premium TV sales), leading to high inventories and the possibility of falling retail prices.
