NOS, the Portugese communications and entertainment group, has launched two trial UltraHD channels in the country, using Thomson’s Vibe VS7000 encoding/transcoding platform. The HEVC-encoded channels are for NOS’s own service, as well as one for satellite operator Hispasat.
