Dolby Labs reported Q2 2016 net profit of $67.4 million, up 16% YoY from $58 million. Turnover was $274.3 million, compared to $271.9 million in the year ago quarter. Dolby Audio inclusion in the iOS was credited with the improved financials.

E Ink and Vanzo Technology have co-operated on a turnkey solution to support the development of dual-screen mobile phones using MediaTek chips. The solution combines E Ink ePaper technology with Vanzo’s software and app.
UMC reported Q1 2016 net profit of NT$ 210 million ($6.5 million), down 94.7% YoY from NT$ 3.9 billion ($123 million). Turnover was NT$ 34.4 billion ($1 billion), down 8.6% YoY from NT$ 37.65 billion ($1.1 billion). Financial performance was negatively impacted by the earthquake in February.
