Grand Visual in the UK said that it had worked with Disney to create a bus shelter in Singapore that combines an image from a camera with graphics to create an augmented reality digital signage experience. There’s a video below that shows the impact that the two day project had.
LG has won an order for 1050 displays for Orlando International Airport. 700 are 55″ 0.9mm bezel units that will be used to create a single 1,561 (475 m) wall behind counters. Peraso Technologies, which has been developing WiGig technology (Peraso Speeds WiGig Rollout) said that the Wi-Fi Alliance is now testing WiGig products and that the Peraso USB dongle is one of the first products to go through the ceritification process.
Vivitek has promoted David Zrihen to sales director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in France. Zrihen was previously working on brand development in the region. Doug Albregts has been appointed as president and CEO of Sharp Electronic Corp., the US subsidiary of the Japanese company, succeeding Toshiyuki Osawa. Albregts was previously president of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. He brings digital signage experience and has also worked for Samsung Electronics and NEC.
