Netflix and TiVo Reach New Agreement

Netflix and TiVo have updated their intellectual property agreement. TiVo will continue to integrate Netflix into its STBs, but now Netflix will license TiVo’s technology for its OTT service. This is one of the first licences granted using Rovi’s (TiVo’s owner) exclusive partnership with Intellectual Ventures to handle licensing for the two companies.

Panasonic and Atlona Join for Videoconferencing

Panasonic is working with US AV distributor Atlona to put together a complete platform for videoconferencing. The bundle includes Panasonic’s TH-84EF1 and TH-75EF1 LCD displays combined with Atlona’s AT-UHD-HDVS-300-KIT conferencing system. There is no need for a control system and operation is simple with support for up to five presenters.
