Optoma Adds to UltraHD Home Projectors

In addition to the UHD60 and UHD65 (Optoma UHD Projectors are Aggressively Priced), Optoma has released the UHD550X, an UltraHD DLP projector with 2,800 Ansi lumens and Rec 709 colour support. The lamp-based product is claimed to have 500,000:1 dynamic contrast and lamp life from the 240W lamp is 4,000 to 15,000 hours, depending on the mode used. The model is advertised as supporting HDR metadata, so we assume this is HDR10.

Throw ratio is from 1.39 to 2.22:1 and there is a 1.6:1 zoom and the product has a + 15% vertical lens shift. Connectors are one HDMI 2.0, one HDMI, VGA and a range of analogue and digital audio as wel;l as RJ45, RS232 and USB. There are dual 4W speakers. Noise level is 25dB.

The SRP for the projector is €1,999 including tax in Europe.

This new range of UltraHD projectors from Optoma is very good value. I’m very tempted to get one in to review to see if they are as good in value as they look! (BR)
