NTV+ has launched Ultra HD TV broadcasts in the European part of Russia. The company had previously launched its UHD service in Russia’s Far East and Siberia, so now the service is available across the entire country.
Two channels will be broadcast in UHD by the company; Fashion One 4K and Home 4K, both of which being available in the pay-TV basic package at no extra cost. There are plans to add additional UHD channels this year.
NTV+ leased eight transponders on the Express-AT2 satellite at 140° East in January, and gained the use of an additional three transponders on the Express-AT1 satellite at 56° East, enhancing its service across Siberia. It also changed the format of its services to MPEG4.
