The next-generation broadcast TV standard, ATSC 3.0, is now nearing completion and broadcasters and equipment suppliers will be showing their capabilities of the standard in the NextGen TV Hub at the 2017 NAB Show at the end of April. (FCC Approves STB Proposal)
A display in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Centre will highlight the new standard, with a live ATSC 3.0 broadcast from local station KLSV-LD. The station will transmit a variety of 4K Ultra HDTV programming that will be received on an LG Electronics 4K Ultra HDTV set with an integrated ATSC 3.0 tuner.
ATSC 3.0 products and services will be seen throughout the 2017 NAB Show with nearly a dozen companies exhibiting specific ATSC 3.0 technologies in the ATSC 3.0 Pavilion.
The NextGen TV Hub is collaborative effort of the National Association of Broadcasters, the Consumer Technology Association and the Advanced Television Systems Committee.
