LG Will Show HDR & ChromeCast Monitors at CES

LG has announced a number of new monitors that will be shown at CES.

The LG32UD99 is a 32″ 3840 x 2160 monitor that supports the HDR10 profile for HDR applications and uses an IPS panel with 95% of DCI P3 gamut coverage. The connectivity is via USB Type-C (which supports notebook charging) and has integrated speakers.

The 34UM79M is a 34″ 21:9 monitor which is described as a Mobile+ monitor, as it has support for Chromecast, so that content can be wirelessly streamed from mobile device. There is also a ‘dual controller plus’ feature that allows a single keyboard and mouse to be used with a PC or a smartphone/tablet. The monitor also allows an app on a mobile device to be used as a remote controller for monitor set up.

The company will also show the UltraFine displays that it developed for use with the Apple Macbook Pro. It will also have a 34″ gaming monitor, the 34UC99, but details were scarce. We did find out the monitor has AMD FreeSync technology, 1ms Motion Blur Reduction, Dynamic Action Sync and Black Stabilizer. We’ll fill in the gaps at the show.
