Leyard Breaks 1 MM Pixel Pitch

Leyard has announced the 0.9mm LED wall product that it had told us about at the recent IBC event. The new panel is the first time the company has got below 1.00mm pitch and extends the TWA range, which already supports 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 and 2.5 mm pitches. The cabinet is a 54″ unit with dual HDMI inputs and loop-through which makes the panel a reasonable replacement for existing LCDs. The modules forming the cabinet are 128 x 180, so there are forty modules per cabinet. The rear of the unit is very clean and includes carrying handles.

Black LEDs are used to optimise contrast which is quoted at 6,000:1 and the 54″ unit has 1280 x 720 resolution so that a 2 x 2 configuration supports 2560 x 1440 and 3 x 3 creates an UltraHD layout. Brightness is quoted at more than 600 cd/m². Brightness and colour uniformity is 97% and the colour gamut is NTSC. Colour temperature is adjustable from 3,200ºK to 9,300ºK.

The cabinet weighs 30kg (37kg/m²) and power consumption is 360W per cabinet (445W/m²) maximum, but 90W (typical). The cabinet is fanless and lifetime is quoted at 100,000 hours. The cabinet is rated at IP30 and is designed for indoor use.
