A survey of 3,400 respondents around the world in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Australia and Japan showed overall that 16.5% of respondents expect to buy products online on Black Friday, with 9% looking at Cyber Monday. In the US, 26% will be buying online on Black Friday, with even more, 28%, planning on taking advantage of Cyber Monday. The UK was close to the US with 27% planning purchases on the Friday and 10% on the Monday. Canada has figures of 19.5% and 8%, while German drops to 12% and 8%.
The highest figure for Black Friday was Spain, with 29%, but only 5% on Monday. On the other hand, in France, nobody above the age of 45 was at all interested, while 18% of those between 25 and 44 have a buying plan. Overall, the levels in France were low at 7% and 2%. Japan has the lowest interest at 5% for Friday and 3% for Monday, although younger buyers are more interested. Australia saw results of 11% and 6% although males in Australia reported a higher level of 17%.
The survey was conducted by “One hour Translation” which is keen to promote cross border and language transactions.
