HP Envy 27 Monitor Released

HP has announced a new ‘Envy 27’ consumer monitor that has UltraHD resolution and can connect to a notebook for graphics and charging using a single USB Type-C cable. The 27″ monitor uses an IPS panel and has 1,300:1 native contrast and 350 cd/m² of brightness. Response time is 5ms grey to grey (14ms according to the website, but 5ms according to the spec sheet). The colour gamut is 99% of sRGB. As well as the USB-Type C connector, there are HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 connectors and it can supply up to 60W to charge notebooks and maximum power consumption is 126W.

The monitor has thin bezels on three sides, which HP calls ‘micro edged’. Features include ‘Low Blue Light’ and Freesync is supported for gamers.

The monitor is listing on the HP website at $499.99, but was out of stock when we looked.
