G.hn has been chosen as the standard for wireline home networks in mainland China and Taiwan. The specification, developed by the ITU, defines networking over power lines, phone lines and coaxial cables with data rates up to 1Gbps.
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Taiwan’s SINOCON Industrial Standards Foundation, arrived at the agreement as part of the Cross-Strait Forum on Information IndustryOrganisations/ITU and Technology Standards.
