High end monitor maker, Eizo, has announced the FlexScan EV3285 which is a 31.5″ UltraHD monitor that succeeds the EV3237, reducing the case and stand size. It has a ‘frameless’ design and supports USB Type-C connectivity with 60W of power to charge notebooks. The monitor has a wide range of height adjustment at 195mm and has a cable cover to hide the connections, while the cables are supplied in black or white to match the monitors.
For use in dark environments, the display brightness can be reduced to 1 cd/m² although the peak brightness is 350 cd/m² from the IPS panel which has 1,300:1. Response time is 5ms. Inputs are dual HDMI and DisplayPort all with HDCP. There are dual 1W speakers and a two downstream USB hub. Power consumption of the display is typically 32W.
The unit has a five year warranty with a six month bright pixel free guarantee.
