Eizo Adds 2 MP Radiology Display

At the RSNA, Eizo announced its new RX350 Radiforce three megapixel diagnostics monitor at the RSNA event last year (Eizo Sharpness Recovery Becomes Clearer) and at ECR this year, the company added a two megapixel version, the RX250.

The new monitor has narrower bezels than the previous 21.3″ versions which means that images can be closer together for easier comparison and there is a more stylish stand. An IPS panel is used with 800 cd/m² peak brightness and 400 cd/m² calibrated brightness and 1,400:1 contrast, higher than previous monitors. Although standards typically specify 250 cd/m² as the minimum brightness, moving up to 400 gives more JNDs, Eizo told us. There are two DisplayPort inputs and a loop-through for output so that a second display can be added. 10 bit input is supported through DisplayPort, with 8 bit data on the DVI input.

Other features include an integrated calibration sensor and there is a version fitted with an anti-reflective panel as well as one with anti-glare. The monitor supports the sharpness recovery circuit used in the RX350. The warranty, at calibrated brightness, is five years and Eizo emphasised to us the security and auditing software (Radix and Radix Pro which is server-based) that it has developed which helps organisations to ensure compliance with quality control processes, with minimum human intervention.

Unlike previous years, Eizo did not show its Curator surgical displays or controller boxes as it has found it more effective to promote those at other medical shows.
