Eizo 46″ Touch Monitor is for Marine Charts

Eizo Corp has announced the DuraVision MDF4601WT – a 46-inch touch panel chart table monitor with 1920 x 1080 (full HD) resolution for maritime route planning and navigation. The monitor can be tilted or laid flat and uses a PCap touch system with 10 touch support. The monitor complies with the IEC 60945 international standard for maritime navigation and radio communication equipment and systems. It has IP65 rating for the front and side and IP22 for the rear.

The DuraVision MDF4601WT meets IEC61174, IEC62288, and IEC62388 international standards for ECDIS and RADAR applications. The ECDIS indicator located on the front of the monitor is lit when the brightness and color settings correctly meet the requirements for ECDIS. In the event the monitor’s settings are adjusted such that the brightness is no longer supporting ECDIS standards, the light will automatically turn off.

Brightness is 620 cd/m² (ECDIS-certified dimming: 400 cd/m²) and contrast is 4,000:1. The DuraVision MDF4604WT’s wide dimming range of less than 1 to 620 cd/m² allows operators to adjust to the appropriate brightness level for viewing during the day or at night, providing optimal visibility. There is a PIP function to allow additional information to be seen and there is a 180º rotation feature to allow users to view from either side.

The display will be available in July with pricing available from local distribution.

Analyst Comment

The resolution of this monitor looks low for this kind of size and application, so it wouldn’t surprise us to see an UltraHD version at some point. (BR)
