Dutch Digital Market Slowly Creeps Forward

The Dutch digital TV market grew just 0.8% QoQ in Q2’14, according to Telecompaper. Subscribers totalled 6.76 million, from 6.72 million in Q1. The total market, including analogue customers, was 7.71 million, 87.7% of whom used digital TV (including 3.73 million cable subs with analogue connections). Cable was the most popular platform (55.2% share), despite losing share to IPTV over DSL and fibre. DSL was the second-most-common way to receive TV, followed by satellite, fibre and terrestrial platforms. Telecompaper expects the Dutch digital TV market to grow 3% this year, to almost 6.9 million customers.
