A portable DLP projector from China’s Mego Optoelectronics, the ML131, appeared on the USA’s FCC listings recently, and is available in the country now for $300.
Based on Android 4.2, the ML131 can connect to a Wi-Fi network and users can download apps to the 8GB/16GB of internal storage (or a 32GB SD card). The projector is actually very similar to ZTE’s Spro, although the embedded LCD screen is swapped for a touchpad.
PDF files, photos, Office documents and videos can all be viewed on the device, although as it also supports Google Play other formats can be viewed. Miracast and DLNA can be used to show content from mobile devices. The projector also features HDMI, VGA and USB inputs.
The LED light source provides 260 lumens of brightness (according to the user manual – but only 100 lumens according to the FCC listing) and the projector features 854 x 480 resolution. It can throw a 20″ – 150″ image from 1.1 – 3.9m. Contrast ratio is 2,000:1 and battery life is 60 minutes.
The ML131 measures 75 x 142 x 28mm and weighs 250g.
