DisplayLink And Targus Create Dual 4K Dock

DisplayLink and Targus have announced the first dual 4K USB docking station that can support 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz refresh with 24 bit colour over a single USB cable. The dock connects to monitors using HDMI or DisplayPort (any two from the four connections). The dock (DOCK160USZ) uses the DisplayLink DL-6950 chip. As well as display outputs, there are five USB 3.0 ports, one with fast charging. There is a USB Type-C, but it doesn’t support power delivery. There are audio and ethernet connections. The dock costs $249 and will be available from 20th December.
