Densitron Intros Wide-Aspect Broadcast Displays

Densitron is a company that has served the commercial, industrial and broadcast market for many years. But two years ago, they decided to focus more on broadcast. Instead of reacting to customer requests, they would now develop displays specifically suited for broadcast. NAB 2018 was the first time the company came to the show and they were there to showcase two new products.

The first is a series of ultra-wide aspect display designed for 1U, 2U or 3U rack-mounted applications. Densitron saw that many customers would mount 2 or 3 small displays in the rack-mount, so they saw an opportunity to create a single display to take the place of two or more. The UReady series is the result.

The UReady 16600 D or T versions offer 1440 x 240 pixels with 24-bit color and 800 or 720 cd/m² with an IPS panel. One or even two can fit in a 1U rack mount. The UReady 28000T offers 1600 x 480 pixel with 500 cd/m² and is targeted at 2U or 3U rack mount applications. There is even a 1920 pixel wide version in the works.

The second product featured in the booth is the embedded solution. This is a single board computer that uses an NXP i.MX6 processor and includes software and a GUI interface. This is used to set up the end user interface and to drive the displays so customers can get results in hours instead of weeks. The board can also be embedded in the final solution if desired. It operates on Android or Linux. – CC
