The global installed base of Ultra HD set-top boxes reached 31 million units at the end of 2017, according to Dataxis. The research firm said this compares to just three million units in 2015, as operators step up their deployments of UHD devices.
Europe is growing at the fastest rate, accounting for 52% of total UHD boxes in 2017, the report revealed. Europe was followed by Asia/Pacific excluding China (32%), North and Latin America (5%), Middle-East (4%) and Africa (1%).
