Worldwide OEM TV shipments will be over 20 million in Q3, according to Chinese researcher Sigmaintell, thanks to peak-season demand and lower panel prices. The researcher says that 2017 shipments will total 71.7 million, up 2% YoY, with Chinese OEMs taking 55% market share, overtaking their Taiwanese rivals for the first time. However Taiwan-based TPV will still be number one with 16.2 million units. Foxconn will be second with 13.1 million. BOEVT, which buys 96% of its panels from BOE, will be third with 7 million units, followed by CNC with 6.9 million.
