Amino has announced that GTD, one of Chile’s telecommunications companies, has deployed Amino Enable, the virtual STB software platform. GTD is now able to upgrade its STBs and provide a unified user interface across its customer base, while also extending the lifespan of its legacy devices. Amino worked closely with GTD to provide a consistent user experience across its entire subscriber base.
Donald McGarva, Amino’s chief executive said that operators face the obstacle of modernising legacy STBs that are not compatible with new systems, and the current deployment overcomes this impediment.
Amino Enable was tried and tested for over a decade as the software core for Amino View, an IP STB, which is now being deployed on third-party STBs. Enable also helps operators deliver higher value services such as OTT, SVOD, multiscreen UX, UHD video and Android capabilities, along with updated and unified user interfaces.
