Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred restaurant and bar, City Social, is set to radically change the way we consume cocktails with Mirage, which is claimed to be the world’s first AR cocktail menu.
It has taken 18 months to make the Mirage list with the use of a purpose-built app created by Mustard Design. Initially, guests are presented with a cocktail list like any other, but once the app is pointed in the direction of the selected drink, the AR technology “transforms the guest’s perception of the cocktail and brings the surroundings into vivid life”.
The AR app was created by Jamie Jones of The Social Company and City Social bar manager, Tim Laferla. The cocktails are made using premium spirits from such companies as Pernod Ricard, Diageo, William Grant & Sons and G’Vine.
