According to an AMD representative on the Overclockers UK forum, AMD’s new ‘Fiji’ chip (AMD Has Big Plans for UltraHD) does not support an important part of the HDMI 2.0 standard: the ability to transfer UltraHD signals at 60fps. Instead, users are recommended to use DisplayPort. Commentators agree that this will severely hinder the chip’s usability outside of desktops (for instance, in UltraHD TVs).
