ADB said that the quadruple-play cable operator, Melita, of Malta, has chosen the firm to implement the commercial launch of its TV service. ADB will provide an STB that supports RDK middleware and services, which is expected to accelerate the time to market. The box is the ADB 1750CF HEVC STB with Wi-Fi and four tuners.
Melita said that it chose ADB because of the middleware, simplicity of use and low energy consumption of the STB.
Melita started shipping an HD STB in 2010.
