3DIcon has met with members of the US Air Force to discuss uses of 3D visualisation technology. The talks focused on how 3D could be used to enhance and ease situational awareness and decision-making before and during a battle. The USA’s Battlespace Visualization Branch (RHCV) has been investigating stereoscopic 3D displays and 3DIcon says that its ‘CSpace’ glasses-free volumetric technology was well-received. A follow-up meeting is planned to further discuss potential uses. The meeting was the result of 3DIcon’s work with partner Scott Defense (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 12).
