The RTings.com website is conducting a long term stress test on VA and IPS LCDs and an OLED to try to assess the impact of image sticking and ‘burn-in’. The sets are the OLED LG B6, the VA Samsung KU6300 and the IPS LG UJ6300 and are in a year-long test. If this is a topic of interest to you, it’s worth a look. The TVs are on 20 hours a day with a 5.5 hour loop that includes a fixed logo that is described as a ‘torture test’. The site is logging the image quality on the screens, initially on a weekly basis, later on a two week cycle. The sets have done well in maintaining their peak brightness.
