The Nikkei Asian Review has posted information about the development of an 8K ‘touch table’ that is being developed for use in restaurants and other locations to allow the interaction with 8K content. The system is being developed by a company called PDC that is related to Panasonic. A compressor for 8K has been developed by Socionext and the table is expected to sell for around ¥2.1 million ($18,900) for a version that will support four users with touch input (as seen in the picture).
