China’s LeTV rebranded itself as LeEco earlier this year, marking a change in focus for the firm to both the environment and its ecosystem. Four new products have been revealed at an event in Beijing, including phones (LeEco Beats Apple…But Why?) and a TV.
A fourth-generation SuperTV, the X4, was shown off. Like the Le Max2 smartphone, it will be available in two versions, although here the variance is in resolution: the SuperTV X4-50 is 1920 x 1080 while the X4-50 Pro is UltraHD. Both have 50″ displays, are 9.9mm thick and use MStar’s 6A938 chip (1.7GHz).
RAM is 3GB on both, but storage is 16GB on the X4 and 32GB on the X4 Pro. Both TVs have HDMI 2.0 (x3), USB 3.0 (x2) and support ‘Ultra-VDEC’ decoding – we are trying to find out more about this. Viewing angles are 176° on the X4 and 178° on the X4 Pro (which also has a 4,000:1 contrast ratio).
Both TVs will go on sale in China from the 26th April, for – apparently – CNY2,500 ($385) and CNY3,000 ($465), although these prices are not from official sources.
