3M has developed a new High Clarity privacy filter that is designed to work better with displays that have higher resolutions. The filter is claimed to have “30% more clarity” than previous products and will be available for monitors from 13″ to 27″. The filter also reduces blue light transmission by 35%. The company has a website with a product finer to help users choose the right version. The filters “fade to black” from 30º side angle and reach black at 60º. The new filters have a glossy finish.

BenQ has announced the XL2411P 24″ monitor which is in the Zowie range and is intended for gaming and eSports use. The monitor is a FullHD unit with 350 cd/m² of output and 1,000:1 contrast. Response time is quoted at 1ms (GtG) and the panel is a TN type while maximum refresh rate is 144Hz. Inputs are DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2 and there is a headphone jack. Power consumption is 45W and height adjustment is 130mm. Other features include Black eQualizer, Color Vibrance, flicker free operation and low blue light.
Taiwanese website, Digitimes, has reported that Dell plans some new “Light Gaming” products under its Alienware gaming brand. The site reports that Compal is supplying 60% to 70% of Dell’s current notebook demands and is the major supplier of Alienware products. Pegatron and Wistron make the balance.
Fujitsu Ltd and Fujitsu Client Computing Ltd have announced the release of 30 new enterprise PC models across 15 product series, all equipped with the Windows 10 Creators Update. The new models are being rolled out in stages from mid-August in Japan.
In its Fujitsu Desktop Esprimo family of desktop PCs, Fujitsu is offering five models, including the Esprimo K557/R, which has a new case design with a built-in LCD (19.5 to 23.8″ IPS 250 cd/m² panels) as an ‘All-in-One’. In its Fujitsu Workstation Celsius family of workstations, Fujitsu is offering six models, including the Celsius W570, a compact mini-tower entry-level model. In its Fujitsu Notebook LifeBook family of laptops, Fujitsu is offering twelve models, and in its Fujitsu Tablet Arrows Tab family of Windows tablets, Fujitsu is offering seven models. Among them are three models that are thin and light for superior portability to support employees who work remotely, and the new models are priced up to 25% lower than similar existing models.
HP has released its Omen X Laptop which is intended for game players and allows for overclocking. The GTX 1080 GPU can also be overclocked and it can drive the 17″ UltraHD display or the FullHD version at up to 120Hz. Storage is by SSD or SSD+HDD options and a range of Intel Core processors is available. Connections include three USB 3.0 Type A, two Thunderbolt 3-certified USB 3.1 TypeC, HDMI 2.0a with HDR support, Mini DisplayPort, RJ45 and a multi-format media card reader.

Lenovo has announce the L27q, a 27″ IPS monitor with 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution and brightness of 350 cd/m² and 1,000:1 contrast. There are no USB connectors or speakers but the monitor is competitively priced in the US at $300. The case is a three narrow bezel style and inputs are DisplayPort and HDMI (with a fixed HDMI cable). It is approved to Epeat Gold level. Colour gamut is 99% of sRGB.
