Sky Q users will soon able to control their TV via voice control built into the Sky Q remote.
Coming later this month, the update will allow users to issue a range of simple commands such as “change channel to Lifetime”, “play Game of Thrones” or “skip back 30 seconds”. The new features build upon the Voice Search feature that Sky implemented earlier this year.
Voice Search has proved a popular decision for Sky. 9 million voice search commands have been used so far.
Users can also access their box’s accessibility options with commands like “turn on audio description”.
Also coming as part of this month’s update is the new Favourites section, where users can build and edit a list of up to 99 of their most watched channels, all conveniently stored in the same place. A new, dedicated Ultra HD section is also being added to My Q.
