Broadband TV news reported that Vodafone Deutschland has rolled out its GigaTV service, based on the Cisco Infinite video platform, to give access to UltraHD content. The service has 120 channels, 55 catch-up portals and a VOD service.
The box used has 1TB storage for trick play and some of the VOD library will be available in UltraHD. Pricing for the service including GigaTV HD Premium is €19.99 and the app for smartphones and tablets is €9.99 per month. The Android version is available now, with iOS to follow shortly.
