Alcatel-Lucent plans to integrate V-Nova’s Perseus compression technology (V-Nova’s Perseus Lowers UltraHD Bandwidth Requirements) with its Cloud DVR platform, and Oregan Networks’ Multiscreen Cloud Video Client.
Alcatel-Lucent hopes to gain ‘significant’ improvements in its IP video delivery to greenfield customer deployments and existing infrastructures. By integrating the technology into Oregan’s cloud video client (which can be deployed on UltraHD and legacy STBs), Alcatel-Lucent will be able to offer service providers the first end-to-end Perseus-enabled IP-delivered video.
