Parks Associates predicts that more than 330 million UltraHD TVs will have been sold worldwide by the end of 2019 – an increase from 2 million in 2013.
A new report by the firm notes that, of US broadband households planning to purchase a new flat-panel TV this year, 56% consider UltraHD an important feature. However, among flat-panel shoppers not planning to buy an UltraHD set, 42% were unfamiliar with the technology; and 44% felt that the improved picture quality did not justify the cost premium.
