Ukraine sees Subscriber Growth in DTH and IPTV

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the number of satellite TV subscribers at the beginning of 2017 was 470,800, which was a five-fold increase on the 1st April 2016 figure of 90,400.

IPTV services increase was even better over the same period with the number of subscribers rising from 6,600 to 540,900.

Cable TV subscriber also increased from 2,625,700 to 2,930,200 over the same period after reaching a peak of 3,419,600 on 1st October 2016 before falling back. The take-up of cable TV digital services dropped from 805,300 to 755,400 over the same period.

Internet subscribers rose from 14,203,200 to 16,723,000 and fixed services also rose from 4,898,100 to 5,013,200, both over the same period.

According to Telesputnik and AKTR, cable operator revenues rose from €54.2 million in 2015 to €55.7 million last year, and at the same time Internet revenues rose from €214.1 million to €227.2 million.
