Ukraine Delays Analogue TV Switch Off

According to Leonid Yevdochenko, the head of the state service for special communications and information protection, the Ukraine Cabinet of Ministers has delayed analogue switch off until the end of June next year. Reportedly this has been done due to the existence of a number of unresolved financial and socio-economic problems that hamper the process of transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.

A draft cabinet resolution on putting back the date was approved last month, and as a result of the decision, simulcasting in analogue and digital will continue until the end of next June.

Ukraine has adopted the DVB-T2 standard for digital terrestrial broadcasting.
