UK Celebrates 50 years of colour TV

The UK has just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the launch of colour TV services in the country. On 30th June 1967, the BBC started transmission of the Wimbledon tennis tournament in colour. Check out a video from the BBC here. The UK has a compulsory TV licensing programme and there are still 8,000 holders of black and white TV licences.
