The Commercial Times in China has reported that TSMC is expected to start making 12nm FinFET chips in the fourth quarter of 2017. They will be used in Xavier CPUs and Volta GPUs for Nvidia as well as HiSilicon SoCs for handsets and MediaTek’s P30 APUs. The company is also reported to be making 10nm FinFET chips for Apple and used for the firm’s A10X processors (in the iPad Pro tablets) and A11 chips for new iPhones.
