TI has developed a new ultra-thin ambient light sensor that is claimed to reflect the sensitivity of human vision and is said to reject 99% of infrared. The sensor can measure from 0.01 Lux to 83K Lux. The device is small enough to be used in smartwatches and wearable devices.
