TeleColumbus in Germany, and the third largest cable operator in the country, will launch a new advanceTV platform on 16th January 2017. The box allows PVR, OTT, PayTV and PPV movies as well as linear TV and supports the Maxdome service and UltraHD.
VOD content is also to be made available to customer’s devices when away from the home as TeleColumbus moves to make itself a “fully integrated multimedia operator”.
The box is based on cloud-based technology from Espial and uses the Espial G5 STB client which is based on RDK and HTML5. Espial acted as the main systems integrator and worked with Cisco, Verimatrix, Elemental, Humax and others.
