Reportlinker.com has conducted a survey among consumers in the US on VR and suggests that there is a disconnect between the views of consumers and the enthusiasm of VR marketeers. Half of respondents were unable to name a VR brand, although once the technology is explained, the positive interest goes up to 70%. Of those who have tried a VR headset gave a score of B for the general experience (6.9/10 of overall satisfaction score). Those that have not tried the concept are not that interested, with the majority of respondents (55%) who have never tried a VR device are not interested in taking a test drive with the headset.
Finally the survey reported that when it comes to cost, the majority of respondents would be unwilling to spend more than $300 for a headset.
