Broadband TV News reports that Sky Deutschland will launch its Sky Glass streaming-optimised TV in Germany in 2023. The firm had originally planned a launch this year. Sky said that it wanted to prioritise its ‘Wow’ streaming service.

BBTV News speculates that Sky was waiting for a bit more maturity in the product before launching in Germany. German consumers are very, very picky especially if they think that a product has a fault. I’m struggling to remember the details, but I seem to remember that a lot of consumers returned sets that should support 60Hz operation, but only supported 50Hz. At the time, all the sources in Germany provided only 50, but nevertheless consumers were unhappy that the product didn’t match the specification. (BR)
